Tolerance of intolerance

by Marzouk Ahmed

It has been a common phenomenon among all Western nations to be very tolerant and multicultural. Yet, if one speaks out and is critical about certain aspects of multiculturalism one is labeled as racist bigot and called an advocate for hate speech. The leftist media likes to paint a glossy picture about every event that occurs, blaming the conservatives and their traditional policies whenever things are bad and furthermore, stifles conservative criticisms and opinions about many issues. It should be strongly noted how wrongheaded this is. Withholding criticism and ignoring differences among different cultures and ethnic groups regarding various social issues is racism in its purest form. Additionally, these same liberal, cultural experts and anthropologists fail to realize that, through their nervous avoidance of criticizing non-Western countries or events, such as the recent Arab spring or China and the other states in the Manufacturing belt – India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, etc.- they trap the people who represent these cultures in a state of backwardness. The experts may have the best of intentions, but as we all know, the road to hell is paved with good intentions
